About STAR

Registrations for STAR are now closed as the program has been filled. If you have any questions or concerns please email paula.johnson@hearandsay.com.au.

Designed for teenagers who are 12 to 15, this three-day workshop encourages participants to build their self-confidence and independence, while also working on social and communication skills.

The skill-building is done though fun, challenge-based activities focusing on communication and problem-solving; in the past these activities have included ninja courses, rock climbing and escape rooms. STAR is led by our experienced audiologists and speech pathologists and helps participants to learn more about their hearing loss, technology talking about this with their peers.

Follow-up workshop: Monday, 12 December 10.00am – 2.00pm

Cycling and hearing loss: staying safe on the roads

“People kept mentioning to me that I was missing parts of conversations, and in crowded environments I was finding it very difficult to hear and engage with others."
