The melodic song of birds in the trees – it’s something many of us take for granted, but not so for 75-year-old grandfather, Trevor.
Having acquired hearing aids through Hear and Say’s Adult Hearing program, Trevor said that he had been overjoyed to find a return to many everyday sounds.
“I had noticed that I was missing out interacting with friends and family, especially the grandkids. It was embarrassing at times, getting the wrong slant on conversations, and I often had to rely on others for interpretation,” said Trevor.
“I had previously had a hearing aid through another provider, but was unable to cope with it mainly because of the inadequate support I’d received. Hear and Say on the other hand had at their disposal all the hearing technology brands, so there was a far greater opportunity to receive the very best option for my hearing loss.”
A boilermaker by trade, Trevor’s time is now filled with gardening, hobby farming and caravanning with his wife, Grace around Australia – all of which he said had been opened up even further with his new hearing aids.
“It’s a no-brainer, really. The hearing aids are working well and are definitely improving my communication skills. I feel more confident in social circles, which in turn allows me to be closer to my old self,” said Trevor.
“I also find it much easier to interact with our grandchildren, and to hear the small birds again is just magic.”
