Meet the guest presenters

Dr Jenna Voss

PhD, CED, LSLS Cert AVEd 


As a National Leadership Consortium in Sensory Disabilities fellow, Dr Voss completed her PhD in Speech and Hearing Sciences in the Program in Audiology and Communication Sciences at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. She is also a certified Listening and Spoken Language Educator. Dr Voss’s background is as a teacher of the deaf and early intervention provider. Recently she has investigated how research findings in cognitive psychology might be applied to the field of deaf education to improve the efficiency of learning and instruction of pre-service teachers.

Dr Uma Soman

PhD, LSLS Cert AVEd


Dr Soman is a certified Listening and Spoken Language Specialist Auditory-Verbal Educator with over 15 years of experience in working with families and training professionals. She is the co-founder and director of professional development at Listening Together, working with professionals across the world to enhance their knowledge and skills to teach children who are deaf and hard of hearing and empower their families.

Dr Elizabeth Rosenzweig

PhD, CCC-SLP LSLS Cert


Dr Rosenzweig is a certified Listening and Spoken Language Auditory-Verbal Therapist. She is Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at Yeshiva University Stern College for Women. Her research interests include personnel preparation, Auditory-Verbal outcomes, and trauma-informed care.

Teri Ouellette

M.S.Ed, LSLS Cert AVEd


Teri is Executive Director-Emeritus of St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf. Teri has degrees in Deaf Education and Early Childhood. She has taught auditory-based programming for infants through to middle school students. Teri is Past-President of the A.G. Bell LSL Academy Board.   She has presented internationally on Auditory and Executive Function and Theory of Mind development.
